SERVICES

QUALITY ASSURANCE and QUALITY CONTROL

Ensure product delivery conforms to specification

Have customer specifications been read, reviewed and are they implemented? Do steps or procedures you have in place provide the capability to achieve and continue this conformance?

Ensure confidence in a defined system

Does your manufacturing system or method ensure confidence, do your inspection steps or methods walk in line with the required system or final specification?

Ensure defects are eliminated

Are dimensional and tolerance checks being made to ensure accuracy of manufacture and conformance to drawing? Are specifications being applied during manufacture?

We pride ourselves on delivering a service that can ensure product quality conforms to specification and expectation, that can ensure confidence in defined systems and that can ensure defects are eliminated. We tend to work with a Shift Left focus, we always review and involve what happened earlier in the process. When the earlier steps are correct then the following steps will more likely be easier to ensure compliance.

We can follow a standard manufacturing plan or develop a custom plan to specifically suit your product, it would normally include -

  • Project Quality Plan - to highlight to your customer the pre-defined steps that will be followed and by whom, during manufacture
  • Risk assessment - the identification, analysis and evaluation of hazards, activities or process that may cause harm, particularly to operators or the public, associated with the product.
  • Design review - a documented review highlighting all points raised to “design out” problem areas, fit or no-fit, points of issue raised in Risk Assessment
  • Process assurance - writing and following the ITP, verifying project reviews and audit points. This demonstrates that each component complies the predetermined requirements.

PADTech staff are trained to provide an impartial 3rd party assurance that your product conforms to the manufacturing drawings and to your customer specifications. This Quality Assurance confirms that the standards, practices, procedures and methods are applied. We can write the required Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) or use your existing and ensure this is followed during the manufacturing process, at its completion all documents are gathered, tests and records are provided and you have a witnessed confirmation of the quality manufacture of the product.

We can monitor your manufacturing process to ensure continuity of accuracy, to ensure dimensional and tolerance accuracy in manufacture. As an impartial 3rd party we are continuously called upon to provide reports of manufacturing quality or accuracy, to ensure specific steps are carefully followed. This requirement is often distracting staff away from their core purpose but we can rapidly confirm compliance and report back with full metrics and photos.

NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

PADTech technicians are qualified to inspect by Dye penetrant, Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic methods, inspections are all performed in conformance with Australian Standards and by AINDT certified technicians.

We are a leading specialist in performing Non Destructive Testing and Inspection on a number of materials, machined, as welded, cast or forged. We can provide prompt service for magnetic particle inspection, this process is fast and easy to perform, gives clear and immediate results. It is required for conformance to AS 1554, Structural fabrication, and is included in Parts 1, 4 and 5.

ENGINEERING DOCUMENTATION

The correct operation of machinery is a key factor to operator satisfaction, continued maximum output and extended machinery life. You have put design hours into the equipment, now make sure the documentation supports the operation and maintenance requirements. We provide concise and accurate descriptions, photographs and drawings. Soft or hard copies, compiled into individual manuals or into a documentation package. The practical reason behind PADTech providing your documentation services is that we minimize your interaction to indirect company activities, we are experts in engineering documentation and provide timely and cost effective solutions that suit you best.

Weld procedures - Required as part of AS 1554, these are written by our highly skilled WTIA welding supervisor. We have written procedures involving materials used in AS 1554 Parts 1, 4, 5 and 6, AWS and ASME. Our welding supervisor is certified to qualify welding personnel, select welding consumables and techniques, perform and qualify macro inspections, we perform to NATA accreditation as required.

Component Inspection Reports - - Usually written as part of an MDR, we can inspect all fabrications and machined components to ensure conformity to drawings, specifications and Australian Standards. We provide the impartiality of a 3rd party inspection. With the knowledge of a large number of Australian Standards, particularly AS 1554 and its requirements, we can inspect fabrications to ensure compliance and conformity as well as assurance that the fabrication suitably conforms to the drawing requirements.

Installation, Operation and Maintenance manuals - these are written to suit the installation of your specific equipment, these are specific and accurately written to define your product, not a generic or standardised piece. We can use your document format or create one that is more suitable for the equipment. Correct installation is required for the effective and efficient setup and use of machinery, specialised installation methods can be written to suit a site assembly of factory assembly procedure. Correct operation and maintenance is vital to the trouble free and reliable life of the equipment, an easily read and understood document will greatly assist in educating operators in the correct operation of machinery.

Manufacturing Data Reports - Manufacturing Data Reports - reports compiling all data gathered during the manufacturing process, including photographs, material certificates, test results, NDT reports, coupling laser alignment reports, bearing setup etc.

Inspection and Test Plans - Inspection and Test Plans - specifically written to suit the manufacturing process, witness, hold and all customer interaction points.

Commissioning checklists - a list of all points to be checked during commissioning of equipment, from operator safety, site safety through to checkpoints, measurement and recording of values, levels achieved.

Standard Work Procedures - a list of all points to be checked during commissioning of equipment, from operator safety, site safety through to checkpoints, measurement and recording of values, levels achieved.

Safety Management Plan - a statement of safety management, usually for site introduction, providing details to major stakeholders in a project of how safety and general management will be handled by the site crew. Day to day monitoring, weekly and monthly roll up.

Project Quality Plan - statement describing the provision of a quality product for the extent of the project, of safety management, usually for site introduction, providing details to major stakeholders in a project of how quality will be attained, monitored and verified during a project. We also have extensive contacts to assist in creation of other associated procedures - Welding to Australian and international standards - writing of weld procedures - WPS, PQRs, WPQRs provided and tested by qualified welding inspectors, WTIA accredited.

ELECTRICAL CONTROL and AUTOMATION, PLC CONTROL

Our qualified electrical engineers have a solid history of completing a number of factory automation systems, replacing power distribution systems in outdated factories and building in renewable energy sources. We have recently completed a multi room freezing facility in a meat processing plant with storage temperature -20 and -freezing process at -40°C together with warming facilities
